ADOPTABLE PETS

Penelope is a mackerel tabby and white domestic shorthair cat who was found outside on a cold weekend in February and was taken in by a good Samaritan. She was brought to our hospital for an exam and foster care. It was found that she was suffering from earmites and fleas. The doctor also discovered that she was pregnant with four kittens! She was treated for her ailments and on Monday, March 13, 2017 she gave birth to four healthy kittens. Penelope is a young cat, possibly just over a year old, so she herself was just a kitten. She did a great job raising her babies, and is now looking for her forever home where she can be an indoor cat and enjoy the luxuries of a home of her own. She has been spayed, is up to date on her vaccines for the year, has tested negative for Feline Leukemia and FIV and is clear of intestinal parasites. She has received her flea and heartworm preventative while here and will need to continue this at her new home. Penelope loves people, and gets along well with her kittens. She may need some time to adjust to a home with a cat friendly dog. She is very talkative and loves attention and petting from people. She is looking for her forever family and would make a great addition to your home!

Merida is a black and white domestic shorthair cat who is about 5 years of age. She was found outside and was very ill. She was very anemic and thin and was infested with fleas and earmites. The good Samaritan who found her tried to keep her, but her own cat did not get along with her. She brought Merida to the hospital for treatment and boarding, and as a donation she paid for the initial tests, treatment, and care for Merida. We weren’t sure if this sweet cat was going to survive, she was so ill! She used up at least one of her 9 lives on this adventure! Merida is doing well now, has been spayed and is up to date on her vaccines for the year. She has tested negative for Feline Leukemia and FIV, is clear of intestinal parasites, and has had other bloodwork done during her illness which is now normal. After a long road to recovery, Merida is now looking for a home of her own where she can live out the rest of her 9 lives as an indoor cat with a loving family. She is an adult so may need time to adjust to another adult cat in a home or to cat friendly dogs. Merida is very sweet and loving and loves attention.

Dooley is a tabby and white male domestic shorthair cat, born on 5-24-16. He and his littermates were fostered here as kittens. Dooley had a wonderful home for the past year, and his owner was devastated when she could no longer keep him. Dooley has come back to us for foster care and to find another wonderful home. He is a very sweet kitty, and lived with another cat, so would probably do well with another adult cat. He would also do well with kittens, since he is still young. He would need time to get used to a cat friendly dog, but would probably do well with a dog since he was fostered with them as a kitten. Dooley is a neutered and front declawed, he is up to date on his vaccines, and has tested negative for FeLV/FIV and intestinal parasites.
