Shelley: I graduated from Macomb Community College in 1984 with an Associates of Applied Science degree in Veterinary Technology. I have worked at several veterinary hospitals before joining the team at Warren Woods Veterinary Hospital in 1998. My professional interests include performing dentals, treating the hospitalized pets and the challenge of obtaining diagnostic radiographs and ultrasounds. I am a member of North American Veterinary Technician Association and the local Michigan Association of Veterinary Technicians. After work I enjoy spending time outdoors and participating in many sports.

Deanna: I grew up in Eastpointe, Michigan with our family lab Yogi. We always had pets growing up and I was fascinated with veterinary medicine after doing a job shadow at Warren Woods Veterinary Hospital after I graduated high school. I became a member of the Warren Woods Veterinary Hospital team in 2000 and graduated from the Macomb Community College’s Veterinary Technician program in 2002. I love all aspects of my job but one of my passions is mastering venipuncture techniques. In my spare time I enjoy shooting, baking, running and spending time with my family. My husband and I have four kids and two cats; Tigger and Nella.

Carolyn: I am a graduate of Macomb Community College and I have been a Licensed Veterinary Technician since 1985. I also obtained my Bachelors of Science degree from Michigan State University in 1988. I have worked at Warren Woods Veterinary Hospital since 2003. I have a special interest in animal husbandry and behavior and have attended many educational seminars on training and behavior of dogs and cats. My husband and I have two Australian Shepherds and a houseful of cats. We are also a foster home for Aussie Rescue. I compete in obedience, rally obedience and agility with my dogs and I am a rally obedience judge. In my spare time I draw pet portraits and enjoy reading, scrapbooking and making beaded jewelry.

Beth: I grew up in Eastpointe with my parents, younger brother, our cats Itchy and Scratchy and Cockatiel Bart. I always had an interest in marine biology which lead me to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. In 2002 I started working at Warren Woods Veterinary Hospital and in 2005 graduated from Macomb Community College’s Veterinary Technician program. I enjoy working with all the animals here especially the cats and dogs. I also have a passion for working with computers and managing our online pet portal. I belong to the Michigan Association of Veterinary Technicians. I share my home with my husband, our dog Merry, cats Alpha and Adelaide and our fish tank. In my spare time I enjoy scrapbooking, being a Jamberry consultant, playing the flute for my church and spending time with my nieces and nephews.

Dawn: I have always had an admiration for the veterinarians and nurses that take care of animals. A family pet was always a must in my home and I’ve always taken care of our pets with lots of love and dedication. I joined the Warren Woods Veterinary Hospital family in May 2005. I graduated from the veterinary technician program at Macomb Community College in 2008 and received my veterinary technician license. I live with my awesome husband, our three terrific children, a domestic shorthair cat named Myra, a boxer named Clover, a snake named Rasta, and a school of fish who have all been named after ninja turtles and princesses. In my spare time I enjoy keeping in touch with family and friends back home in New Zealand and scrapbooking my adventures with family and friends from here and overseas.

Nicole: I have always enjoyed working with animals and cared for a variety of exotic pets growing up. While I love all animals, I have a special passion for exotic pets and their husbandry. I am a 2008 graduate of the Macomb Community College’s Veterinary Technician Program. Before joining the Warren Woods Veterinary Hospital team in 2007 I worked at different pet stores and did an internship at the Detroit Zoo. I also enjoy traveling and attending conferences and continuing education classes whenever possible to expand my exotic knowledge. I am a member of the Michigan Association of Veterinary Technicians, National Association of Veterinary Technicians, Association of Reptile and Amphibian Veterinarians and American Fancy Rat and Mouse Association. I share my home with Poonchkei an adorable orange tabby cat, a mischief of rats and reptiles including a spiney tail iguana, smaller lizards, tortoises and box turtles. In my spare time I enjoy working on and redecorating my Warren home, scrapbooking, fishing and spending time with friends and family.

Becky: I have always enjoyed working with animals and have a special interest in behavior. I graduated from Macomb Community College in 1987 and started my career at Warren Woods Veterinary Hospital. I have now returned as a relief Licensed Veterinary Technician. I also work at Macomb Community College as a lab assistant for the Veterinary Technician Program. I enjoy bike riding, scrapbooking and horseback riding in my spare time. I am a member of the National Association of Veterinary Technicians (NAVTA) and Michigan Association of Veterinary Technicians (MAVT). I have two children, two dogs, two gerbils, two guinea pigs, two budgies, (sounds like Noah’s Ark) and three cats.

Samantha: I grew up in Harrison Township with my family and two cats, Tigger and Josie. Growing up with only cats has led to a passion for exotic pets and marine mammals. I job shadowed at a few veterinary hospitals in high school and developed a love for the field of veterinary medicine. I graduated from the Veterinary Technician Program at Macomb Community College in 2015. I Joined the Warren Woods Veterinary Hospital team after my internship here in early 2015. I am excited to work with all of the creatures we see here at Warren Woods. I love working with all animals, but hope to learn more about the exotic pets. I now share my home with two cats, Beacon and Minnie, a Chihuahua mix, Mika, and my bunny, Pebbles. In my spare time I enjoy spending time outdoors, cooking and spending time with my family.

Jackie: I am a 1979 graduate of the Macomb Community College Veterinary Technician Program and a member of the MAVT and NAVT. My career has taken me to several veterinary hospitals including thirteen years at an emergency facility. I have worked on and off at Warren Woods since 1981 and am so happy to be “home” again. I love all animals and have shared my home with a snake, bearded dragons, a hedgehog, quaker parrots and multiple cats and dogs. I especially like raising orphan kittens. I also enjoy gardening, cooking and fishing at my cabin up north.
